This is a really great place, but unfortunately it has been closed since COVID. I hope and pray they're able to come back.
I am not sure why people are reporting this restaurant permanently closed, because it is not. The owner and chef, David Slay has been having renovations done to the restaurant during the pandemic. The restaurant will be reopening very soon. There's a sign outside the restaurant that confirms that. Please stop reporting misinformation.
My wife and I enjoyed many great meals here. It has a nice atmosphere, the food was always very good, and the service was always excellent. I hope they reopen in June as they planned. I assume corona virus is the reason they closed. It would be a shame to see Park Ave go by way of the dodo. Today is June 14th. I will keep checking back. My wife and I will be there!
We had attended several events at this location but this was our first time actually dining here. The ambiance was old school steak house , low lights, candles etc. The menu had a lot of variety but we both ended up choosing steaks. They were cooked to perfection along with the sides . We were both happy with the quality of our food. I thought my medallions were a bit small but other then that I have no complaints. The staff was friendly and effective. We are glad that there is fine dining here in Stanton. If your looking for a fancy night out this would definitely be a good option.
I informed the event planner at work about this place for our year end event. We had the pleasure to have our luncheon today, 12/13/19, here. First of all, I would thank how easy it was to make arrangements and accomodations for all of us (63 people). We had their Garden room which was nicely decorated. We opted for a buffet style luncheon. We were all very impressed how organized and attentive our servers were. Food : definitely excellent - salad, rolls, mixed veggies with tofu, salmon, chicken and beef medallions. Dessert - assortment of cookies and mini cupcakes. The salmon was cooked to perfection, beef medallions tender and everything else delicious. Beautiful garden outside. We all had a great time here. I highly recommend this place for any company event or celebration
A b'ness associate recommended Park Ave, and sister restaurant next door Il Garage (Italian, only open for dinner). The pair of restaurants are located on Beach near Katella in Stanton. BTW, they grow all of their own herbs and veggies. I started off w/ the caesar salad ($5.25 w/ entree) & anchovies ($2.25 extra). For my main, I ordered the signature chicken pot pie down (upside down, $18.25). First of all, the caesar salad was excellent. The romaine lettuce was cut perfectly, it was fresh, and the amount of dressing was just right: 5 Stars. Secondarily, the pot pie was winnahz. There was so much fresh veggies (celery, mushrooms, carrots, yellow & green squash), it had a lot of crunch to it. In addition, the dollop of mashed potatoes and fresh crust didn't hurt my calorie count: 5 Stars. I didn't have dessert, but I spied a buttercake w/ cinnamon ice cream and Maker's Mark glaze, and a salted caramel sundae. Regarding the ambiance, its old skool in here. Park Ave is of the same genre as George Petrelli in Culver City, Stevens Steak House in Commerce, and Dal Rae in Pico Rivera. I really like the three foregoing places, so I'm surprised I haven't been to Park Ave before: 5 Stars. Likewise, the service was warm and inviting. I ate in the bar, and Lavonna took extra good care of me. I inquired about Il Garage, and she took me on a quick tour so I could see the garden and the red & white plastic tablecloths. I can't wait to try Il Garage!: 5 Stars. I can't wait to return to try more of the menu. They have something for everybody: Steaks, fish, pork chops and lamb. Additionally, they have wine dinners (the owner has his own winery). I'll make sure I skip the salad so I can try one of the desserts next time!
We stopped to have lunch at Park Ave Restaurant 11200 Beach Blvd. in Stanton. Diana and her friend Nancy were celebrating there birthday month at this location. Our hostess took us to our reserved table for four. Our server was nice and friendly. Diana and I ordered the lunch special. For our Appetizer: French Onion Soup; Two large cups of soup. hot, fresh & delish! My Entrée; Park Ave Burger; Beef patty, onions, swiss cheese, and lettuce. Side; French fries and a chocolate banana shake. Flavorful! Diana had; Patty Melt; grilled patty, grilled onions, swiss cheese and 1000 island dressing. included; French fries and a small chocolate shake. delicious! Then we left and drove off to find my next review. Robert H.
I've actually been coming here 1-2 per year for several years, and just realized that I never posted a review. With that, I'll first talk about the consistency of Park Ave, because the overall experience is always very good every time I have been here. Next, Park Ave has that difficult to balance synch of elegance and comfort, that it you can have a nice quiet dinner for two or you can bring the family for an enjoyable small group meal. Although the Yelp consensus is not "good for kids" I can say if you bring a well-mannered pre-teen or teen, it will be a good experience. The service is friendly and welcoming. Menu items are suggested but not pushed. We've always had very good service at Park Ave. And, the food. I'll try to avoid all the foodie-speak, if I can. It is very clear that what makes Park Ave special is that owner and chef David Slay is there and ensures that everything is as fresh and from scratch as can be, especially the items from their on-site garden. This was most evident in the fabulous homemade ice cream; the Salted Carmel Sundae was one of the best desserts I've had. One tiny comment: please be a bit more generous with the shakes and malts...they are great and the single glass disappears in only a couple of minutes. This is definitely one of Orange County's best restaurants and I'm glad it stays "off the radar" because, selfishly, it's not too hard to get a reservation.
Superb! That pretty much sums it up. Everything from the hostess, the service, the restaurant itself, and most importantly the food! Once again we found ourselves driving past this location from time to time. Had a few friends speak highly of this place. We decided to use our date night and try "something new." Come on when we think of Stanton we don't say "best restaurants ever." So this gem should be the talk of the town! When you pull up the building is loud with the lights stating Park Avenue. That's really what drew our attention for the longest time. Once you step in the restaurant is lightly lit with cloth napkins, and table cloths. The bar is located in the front, and surprisingly we didn't have to use it because we were immediately seated on a Saturday night at 8pm with no reservations. Trust me we were just as shocked. The waiter was fantastic. Lightly spoken delightful human being who did his job well, and new the menu very well. The manager checked on us a few times, and he too was delightful, and made us feel very welcomed. Let's talk about the food: 1/2 dozen oysters. Cold, super fresh, with their cocktail sauce, vinegar ginger displayed on packed minced ice. So meaty! So good! My companion and I ordered the special entree of the night which was the pork chop with mashed potatoes large enough to split, and the kitchen made both our plates beautiful. We also ordered the carrot tops which are roasted in a honey siracha sauce. The pork chop was so nice! The sauce was this awesome pomegranate sauce that was buttery. The mashed potatoes were so creamy, and thick! But those carrot tops! I need the recipe! We don't usually order the desert but we decided too because we needed to try it all. Lemon parfait. Perfectly made served in a malt cup with ice cream. Just beautiful. We are looking forward to returning.
